Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

  • How can I find out about alumni events?

    There are a few ways you can find out about alumni events. Visit the alumni events page on the Ontario Tech alumni website frequently for upcoming events and to register to attend. 

    You can also receive the Ontario Tech Alumni monthly newsletter which highlights any upcoming events. To receive the monthly email make sure your contact information with your preferred email is up to date.

    If you have the Ontario Tech app with alumni persona you can view all events open to alumni on the app.

  • I want to share my story with Ontario tech students and alumni, how can I do that?

    Please complete the Alumni Spotlight form or email the Alumni Relations office at alumni@ontariotechu.ca with the name of the alumni and some details about their career, accomplishments or contributions to their community that can be highlighted. Include a picture if you have one. All submissions will be considered however we cannot guarantee that all will be published. 

    By submitting you agree to allow us to share in an upcoming newsletter, social media post or in university publications.

  • How can I donate to the University?

    As Ontario Tech alumni, you know how important financial aid is to our students. If you or someone you know wants to support the next generation of Ontario Tech graduates through scholarships or a donation to the Student Relief Fund, please visit the Ontario Tech Giving page.
