Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Student-Alumni Connect Happy Hour | February 28, 2019

Graduating students want to hear from you - what has life been like since you left the university? This networking event is part of the 2019 Graduating Class Challenge (GCC): Mix and mingle with students and fellow alumni as we celebrate the Class of 2019 at Simcoe House Ales and Grill (formerly Shag's).

Alumni merchandise will be on sale, and in the spirit of #ThrowbackThursday, we will also have a limited number of specialty items such as Class of 2015 shirts and Class of 2004 coffee tumblers available for a toonie.

Free Community Movie Night! | March 12, 2019

Everyone is welcome to come and see the Academy-Award nominated, animated movie, Ralph Breaks the Internet. In the sequel to the 2012 film, Wreck-It Ralph, about an arcade game villain who wants a role reversal, Ralph Breaks the Internet levels up on its predecessor with a funny, heartwarming film that expands its colourful universe while focusing on core characters and relationships.

This event is open to the public, bring your friends and family and join our Alumni Association Council as we celebrate Pi Day with a FREE community event. Free popcorn and refreshments.

Spin Through the Seasons | March 24, 2019

The ACE Climatic Wind Tunnel and Ontario Tech Ridgebacks invite alumni to participate in Spin Through the Seasons in support of UOIT Ridgeback Leadership Initiatives. 

This event will once again be led by Multi-Sport Team Canada Athlete and spin instructor Kim Haagmans-Hawke who will lead participants through four 1-hour long spin classes, each with weather from one of the four seasons. Watch the video from 2016.

Ridgebacks Alumni Reception and Athletic Awards Night | March 28, 2019

Save the date! Varsity alumni are invited to the annual Ridgebacks Alumni Reception and Athletic Awards Night.  Snacks and refreshments will be served, merchandise will be available for purchase, and perhaps best of all, memorabilia from your time as a Ridgeback will be on display to get the stories and memories flowing. Varsity alumni who are interested in participating in the awards nights programming are asked to contact alumni@ontariotechu.ca.  

The Alumni Office is proud to present this event in collaboration with the UOIT Ridgebacks Athletics Department.

Alumni Night at the Blue Jays | July 24, 2019

Save the date! Your Alumni Association Council has secured great seats for an upcoming Blue Jays game.

  • Price per ticket will be $48.50 (taxes and fees included) for seats in Section 114L, Rows 13 to 23.
